Principles for the preparation of theses

1. The department of "Language and Communication" regularly offers project groups (see below) in which topics for theses are assigned. Please contact the indicated persons in order to participate in the project and to write your thesis there.

2. Your thesis must be graded by two people, with the primary supervisor taking primary responsibility for supervision. The secondary supervisor may or may not be from the department. Students must have clarified the commitment to supervision for both supervisors before registering the thesis.

3. Please design your thesis according to our guidelines for the preparation of qualification theses (see right column). If you do not find certain aspects there, please consult the guidelines for manuscript design of the APA (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association).

4. The submission is only possible by uploading the thesis in the university's own portal for uploading theses. Thus, since October 2019, please submit your Bachelor's and Master's thesis online. The university's own portal ExaBase was developed for this purpose.

We recommend this video in preparation for a thesis. Among other things, we answer questions about problems that can arise during the work phase and talk about the correct structure of a thesis. The video was recorded in February 2020 as part of an info seminar.
