Research on the processing of quantities

A newly published conference paper sheds light on the understanding of quantities in people with Down syndrome.

Dr. Isabel Neitzel from the Department of Language and Communication, together with Sarah Dolscheid (née Verlage) from the University of Cologne, has published a paper in the proceedings of ExLing 2023 in Athens. The paper addresses the understanding of ambiguous quantities (e.g. "many") in people with Down syndrome. The topic is at the interface between language comprehension and numerical knowledge and is highly relevant, for example, for the (inclusive) learning of this target group.
