Location & approach

By car

The campus of TU Dortmund University is located near the Dortmund West motorway interchange, where the Sauerland line (A45) crosses the Ruhrschnellweg (B1/A40). The Dortmund-Eichlinghofen exit on the A45 leads to the South Campus, while the Dortmund-Dorstfeld exit on the A40 leads to the North Campus. The university is signposted at both exits.

By bus and train

The “Dortmund Universität” S-Bahn station is located directly on the North Campus. From there, the S1 suburban train runs every 15 or 30 minutes to Dortmund Central Station and, in the opposite direction, to Düsseldorf Central Station via Bochum, Essen, and Duisburg.

The university can also be reached by bus lines 445, 447, and 462. Timetable information is available on the website of the Rhine-Ruhr Transport Association (VRR), and DSW21 also provides an interactive route network map.

The H-Bahn (Suspended Monorail System)

The H-Bahn is one of the hallmarks of TU Dortmund University. There are two stations on Campus Nord. One ("Dortmund Universität S") is directly located at the suburban train stop, which connects the university directly with the city of Dortmund and the rest of the Ruhr Area. Also from this station, there are connections to the "Technologiepark" and (via Campus Süd) Eichlinghofen. The other station is located at the dining hall at Campus Nord and offers a direct connection to Campus Süd every five minutes.

By plane

The AirportExpress is a fast and convenient means of transport from Dortmund Airport (DTM) to Dortmund Central Station, taking you there in little more than 20 minutes. From Dortmund Central Station, you can continue to the university campus by interurban railway (S-Bahn). A larger range of international flight connections is offered at Düsseldorf Airport (DUS), which is about 60 kilometres away and can be directly reached by S-Bahn from the university station.

19th Fall Meeting Patholinguistics on 15.11.2025 (online)

The 19th Fall Meeting Patholinguistics will take place on 15.11.2025 (online). The S&K team will present current research results.

On November 15, 2025, the 19th Autumn Meeting Patholinguistics of the German Federal Association for Academic Speech Therapy and Speech Therapy will take place in cooperation with the University of Potsdam. The main topic of this year's digital event is"Narrative Bridges: Therapy of Narrative Ability in Children and Adults".

The S&K team is represented with four contributions (one lecture and three poster contributions):

In the morning, Dr. Isabel Neitzel will present a lecture on"Fundamentals and mechanisms of action of child narrative development".

In the poster session, three posters will be presented by representatives from Dortmund:

One on the topic of"Narrative promotion in the special school language" by Lina Rüggen & Dr. Isabel Neitzel, one on the topic of"Narrative competencies in children with and without autism spectrum disorder - ENNI adaptation of the Narrative Scoring Scheme (NSS)" by Friederike Köller & Dr. Isabel Neitzel and another poster on"Co-Creation in Autism Therapy - Development of digital mini-games topromote social communication in the AuThenTo project" by Maria Busch, Charlotte Kruth & Dr. Isabel Neitzel.
