Location & approach

By car

The campus of TU Dortmund University is located near the Dortmund West motorway interchange, where the Sauerland line (A45) crosses the Ruhrschnellweg (B1/A40). The Dortmund-Eichlinghofen exit on the A45 leads to the South Campus, while the Dortmund-Dorstfeld exit on the A40 leads to the North Campus. The university is signposted at both exits.

By bus and train

The “Dortmund Universität” S-Bahn station is located directly on the North Campus. From there, the S1 suburban train runs every 15 or 30 minutes to Dortmund Central Station and, in the opposite direction, to Düsseldorf Central Station via Bochum, Essen, and Duisburg.

The university can also be reached by bus lines 445, 447, and 462. Timetable information is available on the website of the Rhine-Ruhr Transport Association (VRR), and DSW21 also provides an interactive route network map.

The H-Bahn (Suspended Monorail System)

The H-Bahn is one of the hallmarks of TU Dortmund University. There are two stations on Campus Nord. One ("Dortmund Universität S") is directly located at the suburban train stop, which connects the university directly with the city of Dortmund and the rest of the Ruhr Area. Also from this station, there are connections to the "Technologiepark" and (via Campus Süd) Eichlinghofen. The other station is located at the dining hall at Campus Nord and offers a direct connection to Campus Süd every five minutes.

By plane

The AirportExpress is a fast and convenient means of transport from Dortmund Airport (DTM) to Dortmund Central Station, taking you there in little more than 20 minutes. From Dortmund Central Station, you can continue to the university campus by interurban railway (S-Bahn). A larger range of international flight connections is offered at Düsseldorf Airport (DUS), which is about 60 kilometres away and can be directly reached by S-Bahn from the university station.

29th Aachen Colloquium on Speech Therapy on 15.11.2025

Dr. Isabel Neitzel will give a keynote speech on "Digital innovations in the context of communicative impairments in ASD"!

On November 14 and 15, 2025 the29th Aachen Colloquium on Speech Therapy will take place at the RWTH Aachen University Hospital .

Dr. Isabel Neitzel from the Department of Speech, Language and Communication will present digital innovations in the context of communicative impairments in autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Anja Staiger will also discuss the clinical picture of progressive apraxia of speech. In addition, students from the Master's degree program in Teaching and Research Speech and Language Therapy (M. Sc.) will present their current research projects in the field of speech and language therapy.
The program will be rounded off by contributions from bachelor students on the speech therapy course (B. Sc.), who will carry out evidence-based treatments as part of their final theses and present their results on posters.
