Completion of the "DoSETÜ" project

At the end of December 2025, the successful completion of the project "DoSETÜ - Dortmund language and storytelling training at the transition" was celebrated. The project started in January 2024 and was led by Dr. Isabel Neitzel and Dr. Nadine Elstrodt-Wefing at TU Dortmund University. The project was funded by the Wübben Foundation for Education and, in addition to financial support, included an extensive and enriching exchange program with representatives from schools, education policy and the foundation.
With DoSETÜ, the team pursued the goal of supporting children in the sensitive transition from kindergarten to elementary school through language and storytelling. To this end, specially developed radio plays were used to provide targeted language stimuli and encourage the children to tell stories in a playful way. The project's own radio plays can be downloaded free of charge from the S&K website: https: //sk.reha.tu-dortmund.de/material-1/
The project provided valuable insights into the language development of the participating children and the effectiveness of auditory language promotion materials. Initial analyses are available, further evaluations and scientific publications are in preparation and will expand on the results of the project in the coming months.
Many thanks to all participating schools, children and families, the Wübben Foundation for Education and our fantastic assistants during the two years of the project!
