New project for multilingual dialogic reading starts in June 2026!

On June 1, 2026, an BMBFSFJ-funded project on language support for multilingual children will start in Dortmund and Wuppertal.

The focus is on the professionalization of pedagogical specialists in the elementary sector (Dortmund sub-project) and caregivers (primarily parents, Wuppertal sub-project) of multilingual children speaking Turkish and German. Methodologically, language support is implemented through the targeted use of language support strategies in the dialogic reading process in order to be able to support the prerequisites for multilingual children to learn to read in a more targeted manner. The project team (consisting of Prof. Michael Grosche and Dr. Birgit Ehl from Wuppertal as well as Jannika Böse, Antonia Bongartz and Prof. Anna-Lena Scherger from Dortmund) is already looking forward to the start of the project in June! All interested daycare centers as well as parents are welcome to contact us if they would like to take part in the project's internal training courses on language promotion.
