Interdisciplinary conference on language development disorders - S&K and SpA teams at the 13th ISES in Halle

The 13th ISES will take place in Halle (an der Saale) from November 14-16, 2024. The Dortmund teams from S&K and SpA are strongly represented!

The 13th Interdisciplinary Conference on Language Development Disorders will take place in Halle on November 15 and 16, 2024. As always, exciting topics are already on the agenda on November 14 at the preceding Nachwuchsschool.

The Dortmund Language & Communication team and representatives from the Speech Therapy Outpatient Clinic at TU Dortmund University will be represented with a total of eight contributions (five presentations and three poster contributions):

On Friday, Lisa Giesselbach and Prof. Anna-Lena Scherger will start with a presentation on "Compound word acquisition in children with and without language development disorder", before the IDEAS project is presented by Dr. Isabel Neitzel, Larissa Pliska and Prof. Ute Ritterfeld, among others, with the topic "Response behavior in children with autism spectrum disorders: Human vs. avatar" will be represented.

Three posters from Dortmund representatives will be presented at the poster session: One on the topic "Therapy success in mutism therapy - economization and testing of the InterDoT observation instrument" by Mara Maria Hellweg, Jannika Böse, Katharina Rademacher, Luisa Kramschneider, Ilka Winterfeld, Dr. Katja Subellok & Prof. Anja Starke, one on the topic "Comparison of two methods for recording the production of SVK and V2 in multilingual children with SES" by Jenny Thillmann, Tina Ghaemi and Prof. Anna-Lena Scherger and another poster on the topic "Language support at the transition to elementary school: initial findings from the DoSETÜ project" by Dr. Isabel Neitzel and Dr. Nadine Elstrodt-Wefing.

The Friday program will be rounded off with a presentation by Jannika Böse and Prof. Anna-Lena Scherger on "Identification of early SES markers in children with little contact time with German as a second language - a longitudinal study" and a contribution on "Test for bilingual children (TEBIK) - standardization of a test battery" by Prof. Anna-Lena Scherger (together with Prof. Angela Grimm, Prof. Natalia Gagarina & Prof. Tanja Rinker).

On Saturday, Dr. Eva Wimmer and Dr. Nurit Viesel-Nordmeyer will report on the topic "Working memory skills as a prerequisite for grammar development? Preschool age and late primary school age" Data from the Dortmund longitudinal study.
