Location & approach

By car

The campus of TU Dortmund University is located near the Dortmund West motorway interchange, where the Sauerland line (A45) crosses the Ruhrschnellweg (B1/A40). The Dortmund-Eichlinghofen exit on the A45 leads to the South Campus, while the Dortmund-Dorstfeld exit on the A40 leads to the North Campus. The university is signposted at both exits.

By bus and train

The “Dortmund Universität” S-Bahn station is located directly on the North Campus. From there, the S1 suburban train runs every 15 or 30 minutes to Dortmund Central Station and, in the opposite direction, to Düsseldorf Central Station via Bochum, Essen, and Duisburg.

The university can also be reached by bus lines 445, 447, and 462. Timetable information is available on the website of the Rhine-Ruhr Transport Association (VRR), and DSW21 also provides an interactive route network map.

The H-Bahn (Suspended Monorail System)

The H-Bahn is one of the hallmarks of TU Dortmund University. There are two stations on Campus Nord. One ("Dortmund Universität S") is directly located at the suburban train stop, which connects the university directly with the city of Dortmund and the rest of the Ruhr Area. Also from this station, there are connections to the "Technologiepark" and (via Campus Süd) Eichlinghofen. The other station is located at the dining hall at Campus Nord and offers a direct connection to Campus Süd every five minutes.

By plane

The AirportExpress is a fast and convenient means of transport from Dortmund Airport (DTM) to Dortmund Central Station, taking you there in little more than 20 minutes. From Dortmund Central Station, you can continue to the university campus by interurban railway (S-Bahn). A larger range of international flight connections is offered at Düsseldorf Airport (DUS), which is about 60 kilometres away and can be directly reached by S-Bahn from the university station.

The facilities of TU Dortmund University are spread over two campuses, the larger Campus North and the smaller Campus South. Additionally, some areas of the university are located in the adjacent "Technologiepark".

Larissa Pliska says goodbye to S&K

The S&K department would like to thank you for the time spent together and wishes you all the best for the future!

With the completion of her dissertation and publication of the latter dissertation article, Larissa Pliska is leaving the S&K department. Fortunately, she remains loyal to TU Dortmund University and continues to be active in the Department of Music and Movement. She has also been providing practical support to the Autism Center (ATZ) since the beginning of the year.
We will miss you here, dear Larissa! Team S&K would like to thank you for your many years of energetic and enriching participation and your great commitment to the dragon boat race and training sessions on the canal! We could not imagine a better team building. :)
