AuThenTo
The research project AuThenTo(Game-based therapy of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to promote social communication using objective facial expression and speech analysis) is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR, funding line Interactive and gamification-based technologies to promote mental health in childhood (GamKi)) from 2025 to 2028. In this joint project, a demonstrator for an app for mini-games with the aim of therapy for ASD is to be created through cooperation between technical and clinical sites. The project focuses on the target group of children with ASD of preschool and early primary school age. The AuThenTo software is intended to fill an existing gap in ASD therapy by bridging the usually very long waiting time for traditional therapy. The main aim is to improve everyday skills by strengthening social interaction. People with ASD, their relatives and other stakeholders are involved in the development of the therapy as co-creation partners in order to contribute their perspectives and solutions.
