IDEAS
The IDEAS research project (Identification of autism spectrum disorder through speech and facial expression recognition) is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF, KMU innovativ funding line) from 2022 to 2025. In this joint project, an automated screening tool is to be developed through cooperation between technical and clinical sites to accelerate the early detection of children with autism spectrum disorder. Speech and facial expression recognition will be used to identify symptoms that are particularly likely to indicate the presence of an autism spectrum disorder. This should enable affected children and their families to receive lower-threshold and earlier diagnostic care.
