Informational Material: “Taking Part in a Research Project—Explained for Kids”

To inform children about the steps involved in a research project before they participate, the AuThenTo project created picture stories modeled after Social Stories™ (Gray, 2021).

The AuThenTo project runs from March 2025 to February 2028 and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR). AuThenTo is developing tablet-based mini-games to promote social interaction—for and with children on the autism spectrum, their families, and autism specialists.

You can find more information on the AuThenTo project website.

The StoryboardThat platform was used to create the picture stories.

The material includes a project version with two stories as well as a version with blank fields for use in other research projects. The informational material, “Mitmachen bei einem Forschungsprojekt – für Kinder erklärt,” can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.
